My dad and I climbed Mount Kilimanjaro together July 2023—during my marathon training. It was the most unforgettable, difficult, and rewarding experience of my life.

My Coaching Philosophy

As a coach, I take a holistic approach in considering each runner as a whole person beyond their training. My biggest priority is to make sure my runners maintain a healthy relationship with running and their training, stay consistent, steer clear of burnout, and make reliable progress toward their goals. I want to ensure every runner feels fully heard. I wish to get to know every runner I work with—not only their running journey and goals, but also who they are outside of running, which I think is much more important.

While supporting my athletes in their running goals, I will help them navigate life stressors that interfere with training. That could look like a runner texting me to shift around a workout because of life, work, physical, or mental circumstances that naturally emerge, or gaining better awareness about how big life changes may be impacting training and deciding if they need to back off for a bit.

I will also ensure each athlete I work with understands the purpose of every workout and how it should be performed before they run so they have a clear understanding of how to execute it and why. We will have active discussions at a frequency they choose. These calls will be an open dialogue where questions are encouraged, while they tell me how they are adapting and feeling so we can change around training to suit their individual needs.
